100% Up-cycled Accessories for Father's Day

Posted June 14, 2017

We have a great selection of upcycled accessories for any dad this Father's Day. All art is crafted from authentic materials. They were either found, salvaged, or traded but never bought new. In the studio the designers at Makeshift transform these found "pieces/parts" allowing them to carry forward their prior history, while being re-purposed into unique one of a kind pieces, which are considered to be 100% upcycled. The quality of all the pieces will last for generations.

Give the gift of whimsy!

Posted June 12, 2017

This Sunday, June 18th is Father's Day. Why not celebrate dad's one-of-a-kind personality with a fun gift of whimsy from the gallery. These hand-carved stoneware sculptures are created by northeast Ohio artist, Sharon Sheinbart. The facial expressions on all of her sculptures are just amazing. She is a graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Art. No two pieces are alike! A wonderful gift for the dad that's a dog love (or even a turtle-lover). Stop by the gallery Mon-Sat 11-6, open Friday 11-8. We're worththe trip! For the latest directions during downtown construction click here.

Plant A Pot!

Posted May 18, 2017

We've been making small planters since we started potting and it seems succulent planters are all the rage these days and it’s no wonder why. Not only do plants help to purify the air in our living and working spaces, they also provide the perfect foil to our screen-addicted lifestyles. If you’ve been finding yourself wanting to escape to an indoor jungle of your own making, but aren’t quite sure how to make that leap, check out our handcrafted succulent planters in the gallery and we can help you create your own urban jungle!  Plant A Succulent Pot!
1. Create a drainage layer by adding a small amount of gravel or charcoal to the bottom of your planter. 2. Add a piece of screening or burlap to separate your drainage layer from soil. 3. Add a layer of soil + fertilizer mixture. 4. Add your plant and fill in remaining space with soil and fertilizer.
